Dirk Hartog Island, or Wirruwana, is Western Australia’s largest island and most westerly point, located about 820 kilometres north of Perth on the Coral Coast. For those who like a little seclusion and wild, pristine landscapes, Dirk Hartog Island National Park offers beautiful scenery and white sandy beaches. A place where desert and ocean meet. The island was the site of the first recorded landing on Australian soil by Europeans in 1616. Now a national park, the island environment is being restored with the removal of all feral animals including cats and reintroduction of many rare and endangered animals in the Parks and Wildlife Service’s, Return to 1616 project.
Our team at Dirk Hartog Island Life Adventures consists of passionate and knowledgeable professionals dedicated to providing an enriching and safe experience for all our guests. Each member, from skilled boat captains to expert 4WD guides, brings a wealth of local knowledge and a deep love for the island's unique ecosystem. Trained to the highest standards, our staff offers fascinating insights and stories about the island’s history, wildlife, and conservation efforts. Committed to exceptional service, they go above and beyond to create memorable and personalised adventures, making sure every guest departs with a deeper appreciation for this spectacular part of the world.
