A Day at Dirk - Experiences

Soak up the sun on pristine beaches or explore further out to sea via kayak or SUP. And to top off this unforgettable experience, enjoy afternoon tea (or cocktails!) featuring our own Dirk Hartog Island Gin before boarding our custom designed 12 metre Naiad that will take you back to the mainland feeling refreshed and relaxed.

A Day at Dirk - Lunch

Enjoy the finest delicacies of Shark Bay with an ocean to plate lunch, followed by a guided tour of our historical shearing shed to discover the islands pastoral history that operated for over 100 years producing hundreds of bales of wool each year.

A Day at Dirk - 4WD

Your Day at Dirk includes a 4WD adventure visiting the majestic blow holes and Surf Point marine sanctuary in search of sharks, turtles, whales, dugongs and dolphins. Discover the rugged beauty of the eco-island’s landscape and learn about it’s World Heritage status.

Our Boat & 4WD VehicleS

 

At Island Life Adventures, our 12m Naiad is ideally suited for eco-cruising the waters of Shark Bay. It’s purpose built for comfort and has seating for 36 people.  These vessels are used all around Australia by sea rescue, police and other tour operators as they are safest.  There is an onboard toilet, an overhead canopy, forward facing, open-air seating to ensure excellent all-round viewing.

  • The boat ride from Denham to Homestead Bay, DHI takes approx. 50min
  • Warm jackets are available for the return boat journey
  • Our 4WD vehicles are luxury 6 seaters and fully air conditioned
  • The 4WD Tour runs from approx. 10:15am – 1:15pm

DISCOVER DIRK HARTOG ISLAND NATIONAL PARK

 

 

An unexpected encounter in 1616 by Dutch Captain, Dirk Hartog literally put Australia on World maps. Hartog left behind a pewter plate inscribing his visit at Cape Inscription. He was followed by many explorers who all landed on Dirk Hartog Island including, Vlamingh 1697, Dampier 1699, St Alouran 1772, Baudin 1803 and Freycinet 1818.
